intense. On Thursday June 5, 2008 the best track and field athletes which New Jersey
has to offer gathered in South Plain field New Jersey to decide who was the cream of the
crop in each of the track events
of the Mt Olympus gang ?

The meet which had been postponed by a day due to
concern over thunderstorms was served up with a good
dose of heat .
Nevertheless the crowd was lively and quite
participatory . In fact they stayed all the way through to
the last race.

And you can believe that the lingering heat didn't melt these
athletes as they were in peak of the season shape. Truth
be told the only thing the athletes had their minds on was
getting the gold which they'd come for. No doubt most
performed with the thought well in mind that this meet was
the culmination of months, if not years, of work.

As could be expected some county, school and
personal-best records were broken, though we can't
say which if any M.O.C. records fell.
